What is an OPT Job Placement?
An Optional Practical Training or OPT program is an opportunity for current F-1 visa-holders in the United States to pursue temporary employment in a placement that is relevant to their academic studies. This is a fantastic opportunity not only to obtain hands-on experience in your field of focus, but also to kick-start your career with an experience in the US during or after completing your studies. Our programs are primarily paid and can take place as part-time programs (20 hours per week) or full-time opportunities (40 hours per week). Our programs are available for a start year-round.

Duration & Compensation
There are no specific start dates for OPT jobs in the U.S., so you may enroll throughout the year. The duration of an OPT program is usually between 3 and 12 months. We recommend to register 1-3 months before the start of your OPT training. We will accept applicants 2 weeks before the start of an OPT job placement, however, modified conditions apply.
Work hours can vary from 20-40 hours per week depending on the applicant’s preference. Pre-completion programs for students who are currently in school session, cannot exceed 20 hours per week, but you can participate in full-time programs (40 hours) during vacation periods/off-session dates. Likewise, applicants who are part of a Post-Completion Program (after finishing their studies) are eligible for a full-time program for 40 hours per week.
Please note that holidays are not always included, this will vary per company. Stage-USA is unique in that we mainly offer paid programs (minimum wage).
