The Process
Stage-USA J1 Intern and J1 Trainee visa process:
- Registration: You can register online on the website of Stage-USA. (without obligation and free of charge)
- First contact: You will be contacted by a team member of Stage-USA to schedule an online intake meeting.
- Intake: During this intake meeting we go over your internship/traineeship details to make sure you and your host company qualify for the program.
- Program Agreement / Deposit: After the intake meeting you can decide if you want to start your J1 Intern or J1 trainee visa application. You will receive our J-1 Visa Agreement in our portal with the exact details of your program. After signing your Stage-USA J1 Visa agreement, you will receive an invoice for the deposit.
- Collecting documents: Both your host company and yourself receive a list of documents to submit to Stage-USA. Our J1 visa experts will guide you and your host company with the requirements.
- Preparing your application: After Stage-USA has collected all the necessary documents we prepare your application.
- Payment: When we are ready to submit your application, the remaining application fee will be charged including SEVIS and your health insurance.
- Sponsorship processing: Once the payment is received, your application will be submitted for sponsorship approval.
- Sponsorship approval: Once your application is approved, the DS-2019 form is issued to you directly.
- U.S. Consulate/Embassy appointment: Once you have received your DS-2019 form you can make an appointment at the U.S. Consulate/Embassy for an interview. Stage-USA will prepare you for this interview.
- Flight: Last step is to book your flight. We recommend booking your flight once your visa has been approved.
- Final preparation details: Stage-USA will provide you with additional information on how to apply for your Social Security Number, as well as opening a US bank account.
